Congratulations on your admission into the oldest and largest fraternity in the world.
As you embark on your Masonic career, you no doubt have many questions. The
officers and members of your Lodge are available not only to teach you the catechism,
but to answer any questions you may have and introduce you to the customs and
usages of the fraternity. As an Entered Apprentice, it is your responsibility to meet with
your coach/coaches regularly and to become proficient in the catechism of your
degree. I also encourage each of you and your families to attend our dinners on the
first and third Tuesdays of each month. Once you are Raised to the sublime degree of
Master Mason, you, as well as your families, will have a special claim upon Masonry
wherever you may choose to travel from that day forward. The bonds of this
fraternity, and it's attendant rights and benefits, are cultivated during your progression
through the degrees and built upon your relationship with the Lodge, its members and
extended family, and especially with your coach/coaches, who are there to mentor you
in your early Masonic career. As a candidate for Masonry, your Lodge has a special
claim upon you because, as we read in the great light of Masonry, "The old will die,
the young may die, and the wisest know not when". The candidates of today will be
the ones to lead both our Fraternity as well as our communities into the future.
